"Politico" über den aktuellen Stand der Gerüchte um Trumps Kabinettsliste:
Donald Trump's Cabinet-in-waiting: What we know so far
Für das Finanzministerium gilt immer noch Steven Mnuchin (17 Jahre bei Goldman Sachs) als Favorit.Secretary of State
The leading candidate to be Secretary of State is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, one of Trump’s loyal supporters.
Trump is also eyeing former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, but he’s seen as a less likely option, and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker has long been mentioned as a front-runner for the job.
Also still in the mix are Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Trump source familiar with the deliberations told POLITICO on Nov. 16. Despite his past dismissal of the idea, Gingrich "hasn't entirely closed the door," the source said.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is also being considered for the post, Lt. Gov Henry McMaster said on Wednesday.
Für das Pentagon:
John Bolton als Außenminister und James Woolsey als Pentagon-Chef: das wäre die schlimmstmögliche MischungSecretary of Defense
Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, a close Trump adviser who is taking a leading role in the president-election’s transition team, is the leading candidate for Secretary of Defense.
Former George W. Bush National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley and former Sen. Jim Talent (R-Mo.) have also been mentioned as potential candidates. Clinton’s CIA director, Jim Woolsey, is a darkhorse candidate.
Eric Boehn ("reason.com") zu Bolton:
Five Horrifically Bad Foreign Policy Ideas That Should Disqualify John Bolton From Being Secretary of State. Calling for the preemptive use nuclear weapons, and other potential catastrophes from America’s mustachioed warmonger.
1. Bolton was a primary cheerleader of the War in Iraq and stands for everything Americans rejected about the Bush administration's foreign policy
...
2. Bolton wanted the U.S. to go to war with Cuba over WMDs that also didn't exist
...
3. Bolton really, really wants to bomb Iran
...
4. President Obama followed Bolton's terrible advice about Libya and then Bolton blamed Obama for the resulting mess
...
5. Bolton suggested Israel should unleash nuclear weapons against Iran
...
Bonus John Bolton awfulness:
He helped cover-up the Iran-Contra scandal.
He founded a political action committee with the goal of electing more hawkish candidates. Donors received this mustachioed coffee mug.
He wants to "cause Putin pain," whatever that means.
He supports the drone warfare program created under Bush and expanded under Obama.
He fears we might miss an opportunity to go to war with North Korea.

The Real Reason to Worry About Gen. Michael Flynn. It’s not his alleged ties to Russia so much as his plan to wage global war for global peace.
