In our country we can marry who we want. I decided on Richard Armitage and while he's in denial, I'll travel.
"Project Update #54: Screening Results. Also: new footage!
Dear Backers,
...
In television, test screenings are done in a very specific way. Fifty people sit behind one-way mirrors and watch your new pilot while holding a dial in their hands, dialing up when they enjoy what they're seeing on screen, dialing down when they're not enjoying what they're seeing on screen. I am on the other side of the glass wondering why my Xanax hasn't kicked in yet. Invariably people dial down in sad scenes and dial up in happy scenes, even though that isn't really how it's supposed to work.
Afterwards, the audience testing company suggests that you remove all the sad scenes from your show.
(Secret tips for future TV writers: people dial up when they see dogs! People dial up when good looking people take off their shirts! These things may seem self-evident, but it took me way too long to understand this seemingly simple concept.)
So, it was with some degree of dread that I showed up for our test screening last Wednesday night.
....
I was scared, y'all.
Turns out, I didn't need to be. The crowd reaction was everything I hoped for.
....
Since the movie was financed by you, the fans, the one bar that I felt like I had to hit was that VM fans must enjoy it. Coming out of the screening, I felt like we had achieved that.
....
How The Screening ReallyWent
Okay, now that I've typed this all out, I'm thinking perhaps I've done a disservice to the movie in the expectations game. I know that if I hear all of these great things about a movie, and I go see it, and it's good, but it doesn't blow my mind like it does everyone else's, I'm disappointed. The opposite also holds true (which may explain why Bad Teacher was my favorite movie of 2011).
So, what I'm saying is, erase all that positive news about our test screening from your mind.
In fact, on second thought, it only went so-so.
We're now adding dogs and reshooting large sections with Logan and Keith with their shirts off.
....
Until next time, gang. Rob"

Am 24.03. startet der Film in Amerika.
Zu Piz oder Logan sag ich nur... "Wait...
