Ja grad das find ich schade. Viele seiner Fans haben jahrelang gewartet, dass er ein Comeback macht und dann wird eine Pressekonferenz groß angekündigt und man erfährt nix. Er beantwortet keine Fragen von der Presse, taucht 1,5 Stunden verspätet auf und gibt dann eigentlich gar nix bekannt. Kein Wunder, dass da die Presse verhalten reagiert. Da bin ich echt enttäuscht..

Wie man es richtig machen kann,hat man vor kurzem bei der PK von Depeche mode gesehen.
Aber das isr sicherlich nicht nich Michaels Art und wird vielleicht von seinen Fans nicht gewünscht,weil dadurch das er der Welt entrückt ist(zumindest vermittelter diesen Eindruck),kann der Fan alles mögliche in die Person rein projizieren.
Nur,ne Spendenaktion,nix anderes sind diese 10 Auftritte für mich,da kann man eigentlich ein wenig mehr Informationsgehalt erwarten.

Michael Jackson declared his return to the world stage with a typically eccentric performance as he announced a series of ten shows at the O2 Arena in East London that could net him £50million.

Seven thousand fans were kept waiting for 90 minutes before Jackson appeared for a brief statement that consisted mainly of him repeating the phrase “this is it” and punching the air.

The first of his concerts, which AEG Live, the promoter, promised would be two-hour “all-singing and all-dancing spectaculars”, will be held on July 8, with tickets on sale for between £50 and £75. Jackson, who last went on tour 12 years ago, will not perform elsewhere this year. He said that the concerts would be his last in London.

Amid concern about the singer's mental and physical state, his backers were bullish about his prospects. Jackson last performed live in November 2006 at the World Music Awards at Earls Court. He was scheduled to sing We Are the World but left the stage after just a few lines.

Randy Phillips, president and chief executive of AEG Live, told The Times that the ten London concerts would mark the first step of a three-year tour and the release of a new album. He said: “Surviving the press conference was the first step. We've a three-year plan for Michael Jackson and if it all goes well we will gross $400 million (£280million) in total.”

He confirmed that the singer could earn “probably something pretty close to” £50 million for the London shows. Future tours are likely to involve trips to New York, Paris and Mumbai.

Jackson appeared after a four-minute video of his greatest performances was broadcast to the crowd. The video will also take over an entire advertising break on Sunday night, during the ITV show Dancing on Ice.

Bounding on to a temporary stage Jackson embraced Dermot O'Leary, the television presenter, who announced his appearance, and told the crowd: “This is it. I will be performing the songs that my fans want to hear. This is really it. This is the final curtain call. I love you so much.”

Having fought numerous court battles, the most recent against a sheikh who claimed to be owed nearly £5 million, Jackson needs the money that the performances will bring. Asked how many tickets the promoters needed to sell at the 20,000-seater arena for the tour to be profitable, Mr Phillips replied: “A s***load. We pretty much need to sell it out every night.”

also ich weiß echt nicht was ich so allgemein von ihm halten soll.
Klar er machte tolle musik und bla bla.. aber jedesmal wenn ich ihn sehe habe ich das bedürfnis hinzugehn, ihm eine zu klatschen und ihn anzuschreien, dass er sich mal nen gescheiten haarschnitt zulegen soll und keine blöden sonnenbrillen tragen soll.
Er sieht einfach so richtig zum reinhauen aus.

Michael Jackson O2 Ticket Website Attracting 16,000 Visits a Second!


Michael Jackson's website is receiving 16,000 visits a second as fans register for tickets to his summer residency at the London O2.

MichaelJacksonLive.com is struggling to cope after being inundated with hundreds of thousands of requests.

Dozens of people hoping to register for the "pre-sale" draw have posted comments on the site's forum complaining that their applications do not appear gone through.

Many say that they have not yet received a confirmation email, while others are baffled that they must sign up to Jackson's official newsletter in order to have a chance of getting early tickets.

A spokeswoman for AEG Live, which is promoting the concerts, said that they had been overwhelmed by the level of interest.

"The site is receiving 16,000 requests per second, so demand is extremely high, phenomenal is an understatement," she said.

The pop star appeared in person at the arena in Greenwich, southeast London on Thursday afternoon to announce a 10 date summer residency, telling fans that they would be his last dates in the capital.

Tickets go on general sale on March 13, but fans can apply for a chance to buy pre-release tickets by registering on MichaelJacksonLive.com or texting "MJ" to 81707.

The sheer number of people desperate to see Jackson's comeback – and farewell – shows appears to be slowing down the application process.

One fan wrote on the Michael Jackson forum: "I've tried to register like ten times now, but I don't get any confirming email. Anyone else? What can I be doing wrong?"

Another wrote: "It appears to still be having a nightmare as anything online like this does. I sent 3 text messages from 3 different phones though so still waiting."

One frustrated fan appealed for help after finding it impossible to enter his details. "I just tried to sign up for presage tickets but after entering my details and pressing the button, nothing happened. It took me back to the same page. No confirmation that I have registered." he wrote.

But the problems do not appear to be universal – many fans posted comments on the forum saying they had received confirmation emails and texts.

Jackson will Perform "Spectacular New Songs" in Concert!
The news keeps getting better for Michael Jackson fans. Randy Phillips of AEG Live announced to CNN, on video, that "Michael Jackson's going to do all the hits--the way people want to see it, with some fabulous new productions that we're in the process of designing." Even more importantly, Phillips confirmed that "there will be a couple of new songs and some new music, which I've heard, and it's spectacular. There's a reason he's the King of Pop!"

In related news, a spokesperson for AEG Live confirmed that the official concert site, MichaelJacksonLive.com, has been receiving an astonishing 16,000 hits per second which has made it difficult to keep the site functioning. Presale tickets are expected to be officially up for grabs starting March 13th. Some third party ticket venues have already began selling

"guaranteed" tickets for when they become available, but MJJR.net encourages fans to proceed with extreme caution if ordering tickets from any third party venue especially when the official sales date hasn't commenced.

Michael Jackson is to use his series of London concerts as a multimillion-pound bid to resurrect his career, the Standard can reveal.

The 50-year-old singer, who yesterday announced his retirement and a lucrative residency at the O2 arena, will launch a double assault on the pop charts and box office this summer.

It will kick off a three-year "farewell" tour that will net promoter AEG Live £280million. The commercial flurry will begin next Friday when tickets for the first show go on sale.

Jackson, who is more than £100million in debt, is preparing to release a new single before the first gig on 8 July with concert-goers being given access to online promotions.

AEG has allocated 50 possible dates for the singer to perform at the O2 from July to September. With tickets priced at £50, £60 and £75 each, Jackson could pocket a debt-clearing £100million.

If the shows prove to be a hit, future "farewell" runs under the brand This Is It could take place in New York, Dubai and Mumbai.

The London gigs, which AEG promises will include "two hours of all-singing and all-dancing, are to be directed by Kenny Ortega, the man behind High School Musical and Jackson's old tour director. The plan was drawn up after Jackson was insured following a vigorous medical. AEG Live president Randy Phillips said: "These will be exciting shows. The moonwalk will be back." Jackson is staying at the Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge.
