Wer auf die Insel in Urlaub fährt, sieht meist Süd-England oder Schottland.

Wer aber fährt nach Nord-England?

Hier die Hadrian's Wall.

Ein Grenzwall gegen die Pikten im Norden, den die Römer noch gebaut haben.

Man kommt sich da vor wie auf der Chinesischen Mauer.

Wir haben in Washington gewohnt...liegt zwischen Newcastle und Sunderland......ich fand es dort klasse......wie hat es dir gefallen?

Newcastle fand ich erst mal nicht so toll, ehrlich gesagt. Als ich dort wohnte, ging noch der gesamte Schwerlastverkehr von London nach Schottland mitten durchs Stadtzentrum. Jetzt ist das ja besser.

Außerdem war ich vorher der falschen Meinung gewesen, Newcastle liegt am Meer - so sieht es etwa auf einem groben Atlas aus. Aber bis zum Meer ist es schon noch ein Stück.

Aber mit der Zeit hat es mir da dann doch auch gefallen - und die Landschaft um Newcastle rum ist ja auch echt schön.

Die Landschaft dort ist wirklich schön .....und ich vermisse die Strandbesuche am Wochenende......wir haben immer den Hund mitgenommen und sind danach zum "Morrison" gefahren .....frischen Fisch kaufen (Sonntags um 15.00Uhr).....einfach klasse......

Diesen Sommer werde ich Bradford in Yorkshire wiedersehen. Die Stadt ist eher unspektakulär. Aber es war die erste englische Stadt, die ich je gesehen hatte.

Berühmt ist Bradford für seinen hohen Anteil an Einwohnern aus Indien und Pakistan.
